It was explained to me once that severe autism can be like being only able to focus on a single sensory input at once, e.g. sight or sound, but not both simultaneously.
Tommy in the eponymous rock opera by The Who was clearly modelled after this kind of experience, and supposedly he was inspired by someone they knew. The precise explanation for Bob's statement will be in the next page.

This page ended up a lot darker than I'd envisaged. I hope Merlin's not having some kind of creator breakdown.

Next up should be Epsilon on Monday, but that depends how things go Merlin's end, I've heard she's likely to have a busy time at work again. End of financial year and all..
